Candle Care Instructions

On this page you will find instructions on how to care for your candle.

If the wick isn’t trimmed, be sure to trim to 1/4 inch. Tilt the candle on its side, and light the corner of the wick. Let the flame move across the entire wick, then stand it upright. Avoid excessive burn time, no more than 4 hours is recommended. First burn should be at least 3 hours. Allow candle to melt almost to the edge of the vessel. This prevents future tunneling. (There may be some hang-up on the sides, which is normal, but will burn down as the candle burns.) On your second and future burns, there may be some charring of the wick. Trim that piece and light your candle. If you don’t have wick trimmers, then a nail clipper works just as well, especially once the wick gets low and it is difficult to cut with a trimmer.

Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects and drafts.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Keep out of reach of pets and children .
